Image processor targets mobile apps

The STv0986 mobile imaging signal processor implements a full-featured correction chain and supports a wide range of camera modules including Standard Mobile Imaging Architecture-compatible sensors with up to 5-Mpixel resolution. It has a hardware JPEG encoder with programmable quantization tables and compression factors.

The IC supports special image-orientation effects such as mirroring and flip and rotation, as well as color features. The device can handle continuous video streaming rates of up to 20 or 12.5 fps at 3- or 5-Mpixel resolution. It takes 225 mW operating and less than 100 µW in standby.
