Imagers capture low-light still pictures/video

Using proprietary 1.75-μm pixel technology, the 5-Mpixel OV5630 sensor enables low-light image capture with sensitivity of 960 mV/lux-s in mobile phones. A OV5633 version suits digital still/video-hybrid cameras. The 1/3.2-in. raw-RGB sensors offer differing CRA to suit lens requirements and support automatic exposure control, gain control, white balance, 50/60-Hz luminance detection, and black-level calibration.

Both sensors can output 5-Mpixel images at 15 fps, and record 720p HD video at 60 fps, or 1080p at 30 fps. The OV5630 is available in COB or CSP packaging, while the OV5633 comes in CLCC packaging. (Contact Scott Foster for pricing — samples available now, prod qty 4th qtr.)
