The holidays are often described as the most magical time of the year. Friends and family gather from near and far to share in the merriment of the season. Imagine their surprise when you tell them that your Christmas tree ornaments are actually edible crackers, or that the miniature gingerbread house sitting atop their mug of hot chocolate was actually printed by your very own 3D printer.
Natural Machines, a Barcelona-based consumer electronics company, launched a 3D food printer called the Foodini last year. Using an open capsule model, the owner of the Foodini prepares and places fresh ingredients into the printer, making the Foodini the first 3D food printer kitchen appliance to contribute to a healthy eating lifestyle.
Just in time for the holidays, Natural Machines has come up with a few new recipes that the Foodini can create to make the season even more festive.
As seen here, the Foodini printed a mini-gingerbread house that sits on the edge of a coffee/tea/hot chocolate mug to serve as a sweet treat alongside a warm, soothing beverage.
The Foodini created Christmas tree ornaments that double as savory crackers. Lynette Kucsma, CMO & Co-founder of Natural Machines, noted that a recent batch of roasted red pepper and basil ornaments didn’t stay on the tree for long, as guests were hungry and the crackers were undeniably delicious!
