Imec, the renowned research institute in Belgium, holds the imec Technology Forum each year in Brussels. The two day conference starts Tuesday May 22nd . There will be presentations and discussions about the latest in semiconductor, photovoltaic, sensor, and communications technologies; along with medical and bioelectronics.
At ITF2016, they will, in particular, look at nanotechnology from different angles, question its future course, identify its use in new applications, and offer different paths for future implementations.
Just a few of fifteen talks
One key presentation titled “IC innovation – the heartbeat of yesterday, today, tomorrow” will be given on Tuesday morning by Luc Van Den Hove, imec President and CEO.

There will be a talk by Young Sohn – President and Chief Strategy Officer, Samsung Electronics, followed by Mentor Graphics Chairman & CEO Walden Rhines speaking on: Extending semiconductor cost reduction another 20 years.
Also on the agenda is KUNIAKI TATSUMI director, advanced research division, Panasonic Corporation, REINHARD PLOSS CEO of Infineon Technologies, and, Gary Patton CTO and SVP of Worldwide R&D for GlobalFoundries. On Wednesday Ilan Spillinger, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, will present: Custom Silicon and Nanotechnologies in Microsoft Hololens (a holographic computer). Ketan Paranjape, General Manager Life Sciences at Intel and Martin Brudermüller, Vice Chairman of The Board Of Executive Directors and CTO at BASF will also be speaking.
