IMTS 2010 and the American Precision Museum to Present ‘IMTS Remembers When…’ Museum

McLean, Va. . . . A manufacturing museum with the theme “IMTS Remembers When…” will be a highlight for attendees at IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show 2010 being held at Chicago’s McCormick Place, Sept. 13-18. The museum will be located in the East Building in Booth #E-4471.

Sponsored by IMTS and the American Precision Museum, the display will include a self-guided tour of machinery and artifacts from different points in the history of industrial development, and a “social media encounter” in which visitors can videotape their experiences and thoughts about manufacturing. The videos will be shown in the museum and on IMTSTV.

“The American Precision Museum works with unflagging enthusiasm to preserve the history of the manufacturing technology industry and we are proud to support the effort,” says Peter Eelman, IMTS Vice President – Exhibitions & Communications. “IMTS attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our rich history. The museum takes us from a time when all processes were manual and took dozens of steps to produce a part, to today’s innovations and advanced technologies. It’s a great addition to the show.”

The museum will be open all 6 days of IMTS from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
