Innodisk is shifting to the artificial intelligence (AI) industry and approximately 50 percent of its AI development is related to image recognition. The company’s new series of camera modules with an initial three family members is the early result of that development.
The USB2.0 fixed focus camera modules feature a 1920 × 1080 @ 30 fps resolution, use approximately 1 W of power, and have an operating temperature range of -20°C to 70°C. The dimensions (W × L × H) of the EV2U-RMR2, EV2U-SGR1, and EV2U-RMR1 camera modules are 58 × 25 × 22, 38 × 38 × 16.8 and 60 × 8 × 4.8, respectively. Additional features can be compared here.
The modules target applications such as surveillance, retail, and health care and is compliant with USB2.0, USB Video Class, and CE/FCC Class A. The company claims that its new modules have major advantages over competitive products in the market — customized development, platform compatibility, and ISP adaptation.
Innodisk’s optimized cameras meet the size requirements of a variety of applications, including AI image recognition in parking meters or smart charging stations, ATMs, and hospital bedside infotainment. They also can be used to detect defective parts in production lines.
The new camera series can be used with the company’s recording technologies such as InnoREC for SSDs for a complete solution for integrators with video capture requirements.
The camera modules are currently available and include a three-year warranty. Innodisk plans to release 4K cameras with auto focus functionality in the future.
