Innodisk recently unveiled the InnoAGE SSD with Microsoft Azure Sphere integration, combining Azure cloud management with Innodisk’s firmware, software, and hardware technologies. This enables multi-functional management for smart data analysis and updates, data security, and remote control through the cloud. The SSD can be used in a variety of artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) applications including manufacturing, surveillance, unmanned devices, vending machines, and digital signage.
With Microsoft Azure Sphere integrated in the InnoAGE SSD it provides an extra layer of security, and remote monitoring with zero administrators required, said Innodisk.
The InnoAGE SSD, embedded on the edge device, will collect data and give commands for multi-functional management through the cloud, such as error correction, firmware updates, data analysis, AES encryption, quick erase, destroy, write protect, secure erase, refresh, and recovery. The Innodisk firmware receives commands from Microsoft Azure Sphere, which connects to businesses’ Microsoft Azure Cloud deployments. It can execute debugging messages, and help monitor read/write behavior patterns that optimize storage life span. It can also quickly revert to default settings from a cloud-based dashboard if the system crashes.
The InnoAGE SSD is designed for both in-band and out-of-band network management. The SSD was introduced at the Innodisk-hosted AIoT Summit during Flash Memory Summit 2019 (FMS 2019).
