Instrument cards, chassis first to deliver PXIe performance

Instrument cards, chassis first to deliver PXIe performance

Compatible with earlier PXI cards, PXI Express digitizer, two digital I/O modules, and 18-slot rack permit high speed test and data transfer

The first of their kind, a series of modular, card-based instruments and an 18-slot chassis mark the realization of PXI Express performance for test. The industry-standard PXIe format provides high-speed data streaming and faster measurement, while also supporting back-compatibility with existing PXI instruments, and suits high-speed data recording and playback for test applications in signal intelligence, spectral monitoring, IC characterization, and video.

The cards include the 100 Msample/s, 100 MHz PXIe-5122 dual-channel digitizer and the 50-MHz PXIe-6537 and 25-MHz PXIe-6536 32-channel digital I/O modules. The PXIe-1065 18-slot chassis offers up to 1 Gbyte/s dedicated bandwidth at each slot and hybrid slots to accept a mix of PXI and PXI Express modules.

Based on a x4 PXIe link, which delivers up to 1 GB/s of bidirectional streaming, the digitizer permits capture of two signal simultaneously at 14-bit resolution and streaming the digitized signals at 400 Mbyte/s to PC memory and/or hard disk. The digital I/O modules, which are based on a x1 PXIe link, can stream digital waveforms at 200 MByte/s.

All products integrate with various test software, including LabVIEW, LabVIEW SignalExpress, and TestStand. (Chassis, from $5,499; digitizer, from $5,499; digital I/O modules, from $1,799-available now.)
