Targeting three-phase energy metering, the MCP3903 analog-front-end (AFE) includes six 16-/24-bit Delta-Sigma A/D converters and is claimed to offer industry-leading accuracy, with a SINAD of 89 dB typical and THD of –99 dB typical. Additional integrated features include PGAs, a low-drift voltage reference, and phase-delay compensation, for a reduced external component count that increases design flexibility and lowers costs.
It also features an SFDR of 102 dB for each channel, a programmable data rate of up to 64 ksamples/s, and a power shutdown mode of less than 2 µA. Housed in a 28-pin SSOP packages, the MCP3903 operates from –40° to 125°C and offers independent analog and digital power supplies of 4.5 to 5.5 VDD and 2.7 to 3.6 VDD , respectively.($3.14 ea/10,000 — samples, now)
