The MAX17088 PMIC integrates a boost regulator, a programmable VCOM calibrator with nonvolatile memory, a high-current op amp, and a level-shifting scan driver for notebook LCD panel applications. It includes all functions required to power the LCD source drivers, gate drivers, and VCOM backplane.
The boost regulator has a 1.2–MHz switching frequency and integrates a 20-V 150-mΩ power MOSFET. It delivers output voltages up to 18 V from a 1.8 to 5.5-V input while achieving >85% efficiency. The integrated op amp drives the VCOM backplane and features ±150-mA short-circuit current with a 40-V/µs slew rate. It also integrates a scan driver that drives from –25 to +45 V.
