Inter-process protocol is bkwd/fwd compatible
LINX for Linux 2.0 provides software needed to satisfy local and remote inter-process protocol requirements across all CPUs (including multi-core devices), OSs, and interconnect boundaries. The latest version includes features negotiation to enable seamless upgrades of system subsets with newer versions of the protocol, without concern for backwards compatibility with non-upgraded portions.
LINX also provides support for redundant links—both for physical CPU interconnects and logical connections between endpoints. (Free open-source download—available now.)
