Few are as accomplished as Elon Musk — as CEO and Product Architect of Tesla Motors, he has overseen product development and design of the company’s vehicles, including the all-electric Tesla Roadster, Model S, and Model X, as well as the rollout of Supercharger stations that keep the cars powered up.

Musk is also CEO, CTO, and Chief Designer of Space Exploration Technologies, also known as SpaceX, where he oversees the development of rockets and spacecraft for missions to explore Earth’s orbit and other planets. As with Tesla Motors, SpaceX has already marked many a successful occasion over the company’s short timeline, including in 2008 when its Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft won the NASA contract to provide a commercial replacement for cargo transport function of the space shuttle. Just last year, in 2012, SpaceX became the first commercial company to dock with the International Space Station and return cargo using the Dragon.

It should also be noted that Musk founded PayPal, where he previously served as the company’s chair and CEO.
These are just some of the things that make the following interview so fascinating — Musk sits down with TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) curator Chris Anderson to discuss all of his visionary projects, including a mass-marketed electric car, a solar energy leasing company, and a fully reusable rocket.
