IO-Link transceiver handles sensor interface

The MAX14827 IO-Link dual-channel transceiver targets industrial sensor interface and features two low-power drivers with active reverse-polarity protection and operation from 9 to 60 V, on a nominal 24 V supply. The IC has selectable driver current from 50 to 250 mA and either SPI or pin-control for configuration and monitoring.

The chip comes in a tiny 2.5 x 2.5 mm WLP package or a TQFN package and is specified over -40° to 125°C. For IO-Link operation, a three-wire UART interface is provided, or a multiplexed UART/SPI option allows using one serial MCU interface for shared SPI and UART interfaces. The device includes 3.3 and 5 V linear regulators for low-noise analog/logic supply rails. From $3.35 ea/1,000.
