IR lasers suit sensor, measurement apps

The Opnext HL8337MG and HL8338MG high-power GaAlAs IR laser diodes are suited for use as light sources for industrial and medical sensors and for optical equipment such as distance meters and barcode scanners.

Both 830-nm (typ) units have output power of 50 mW CW, a 75-mA typ operating current, a multi-quantum-well structure, and a built-in photodiode for output monitoring. The Pb-free diodes come in a 5.6-mm package with 1N (HL8337MG) or 3P (HL8338MG) type common-cathode pin configuration. (Contact David Stephen for pricing and availability.)
