ISA-based board gives three-axis control

The pcStep is an IBM PC-compatible, three-axis, motion-control board.
Using a 68000 processor, the board can be used for full, half, and micro
stepping to 750,000 steps/s with an accuracy of (+/-)232
steps. The board implements fully programmable, real time, open- or
closed-loop control with user-selectable step and direction or CW/CCW
output. The output stage is compatible with all unipolar and bipolar
stepper motor drivers. Additional features include a programmable
acceleration boost function, limit and home switch inputs for each axis,
and quadrature encoder feedback inputs in the closed-loop version.
Software support includes the manufacturer's pcRunner, a
Windows-compatible graphical motion control programming package. Drivers
are included for Quickbasic, VisualBasic, and C. (Open loop, $1,095;
closed loop, $1,395–stock to 2 weeks.) nuLogic Inc., Needham, MA Jeff
