Aurora, IL… Equipto Electronics new Ka Shield rack enclosure is so named because it offers certified EMI/RFI shielding from the RF range, through the microwave Ka Band. With shielding effectiveness of over 75 dB at 40 GHz, the enclosure has been designed to protect sensitive equipment from any signal intrusions or leakage.
The Ka Band has recently become more active with data communications, radar targeting systems, space telescopes and more. Ka-Shield enclosures are based on technology already well proven in earlier Equipto enclosures. They provide a strong defense against EMP weapons and geomagnetic storms that can “take out” communication centers, power plants, electronically-controlled infrastructure, surveillance systems and more.
Each enclosure is custom-sized and fitted with an array of exclusive features to accommodate different mission requirements. For example, openings can have doors, panels or a combination thereof. Power inputs, fiber optic cables and other power and signal options are available. Ventilation options include closed-loop air conditioning units. To accommodate the widest possible range of equipment, internal mounting rails are fully adjustable, with punched, threaded or square holes. A broad range of additional accessories add to flexibility.
The Ka-Shield series of enclosures are part of Equipto Electronics’ family of EMI/EMP enclosure systems. Each series is RoHS compliant and designed to meet specific requirements from commercial FCC standards to the toughest TEMPEST military standards. These cabinets allow secure operation of equipment in virtually any installation environment. Complete, independently certified test reports are available upon request.
