Keyboard backlight takes less power, LEDs

The GLT keyboard backlight for desktop or notebook PCs uses MicroLens light extraction technology to provides high brightness and uniformity with fewer LEDs and less power, thus reducing costs. The backlight can also be thinner to conserve space in the keyboard design.

Depending upon the surrounding keyboard geometry, LEDs can be located on the edge of the light guide or in the middle of the backlight. Typical thicknesses that can be provided are in the range of 0.3 to 0.4 mm for laptop keyboards and 0.6 to 0.8 mm for desktop keyboards. (Contact David DeAgazio for pricing and availability.)
