Kickstarter car gadget helps you remember what you can’t forget

Bringrr helps you remember your essentials in the morning rush

If you are at all like me when you wake up, meaning, a very real danger to society until you’ve been awake for at least two hours and had double that amount of coffee, you also probably tend to be forgetful in the morning, because mornings are evil. Whoever said “You’ll learn to be a morning person when you grow up” is a filthy liar. It’s difficult to remember the important things, like work documents or your laptop or your phone, when you’re rushing to get ready in a whirlwind of clothes and shoes and essentials, after hitting the snooze button so many times you start to wonder if it might just be better to quit your job, because sleep is just awesome.

Thank God for us lazy morning bums, somebody has finally invented the Remembrall, except this Kickstarter gadget actually tells you what you’ve forgotten via either smartphone Bluetooth or heads-up Google Glass display. Bringrr fits in your car’s cigarette lighter receptable, and uses the AC adaptor to let you know that you are forgetting something vital.

Bringrr

Aww, look how cute it is

When you enter your car Bringrr, scans for any items attached to a BringTag: a tiny round tag that you stick onto your important things which emits a traceable Bluetooth signal. If you go the fancy road and use Bringrr with Google Glass, you can assign BringTags to an item just by looking at it and taking a photo.

The project was started a couple of years back, with a prototype appearing in October 2012 that sparked its successful Kickstarter campaign. Production of the company’s device is set to begin this May, with shipping starting in the summer. The device is expected to cost as low as $29, with BringTags around $19—not a bad asking price for a high-tech car-compatible Remembrall.

The only downside to Bringrr is that, at the moment, it’s only car-compatible. It won’t tell you what you’ve forgotten when you’re leaving the house, just when you enter your car, so it’s fair to say that the gadget is only useful to users who actually have cars. According to Mashable, the Bringrr team is working on gadgets that help users who use other types of transportation.
