Kodak to unveil Android-powered smartphone at CES 2015

After the launch of its smartphone, Kodak will introduce a new camera along with a tablet

When you think Kodak you think cameras, but the company that’s so well known for imaging solutions and services is placing its brand on a new Android-powered smartphone. Set to be unveiled at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January, the phone targets individuals who are overwhelmed by the bells and whistles of modern electronics.

So what makes Kodak’s smartphone stand out from the crowd? The company claims the device will provide a high-end experience without compromising on design and user experience. Features will include streamlined image capture, management, and sharing functions, along with support for real-time assistance with more complicated tasks.

By partnering with English mobile device manufacturer, Bullitt Group, Kodak plans to broaden its product selection. According to Digital Trends, Bullitt Group’s CEO Oliver Schulte believes the new smartphones will “address a segment of the mobile device market that has been poorly served to date.” In other words, Kodak will cater to users who want easy-to-use devices that also look good.

The Kodak Mobile Device range, as it’s known, will go on sale at some point in 2015. Currently, neither Kodak nor Bullitt Mobile announced a release window, carrier compatibility, or hardware specifications.

It’s also said that after the launch of its smartphone, Kodak will introduce a new camera and even a tablet.
