Laser aims at micromachining apps

The AVIA 532-38 diode-pumped solid-state laser delivers a 532-nm output of over 38 W at 120 kHz with a pulse width of only 45 ns. The beam characteristics (TEM00, M 2 <1.3) and power capabilities of the laser suit it for fast-throughput, precision-edge mic­ro­machining applications such as mic­ro­­electronic-package singulation, wafer scribing, and solar-cell edge isolation.

Units have a 2-year/10,000-hour warranty and come with a sealed water-cooled laser head, an air-cooled power supply, and software that enables customized pulse control and power on demand. (Contact Tim Edwards for pricing and availability.)
