Laser optics suit tough environments

Sapphire laser optics suit rugged applications that use ER:YAG, HO:YAG, and Alexandrite lasers, as well as blood gas monitors, centrifuges, ventilation and oximeter systems, Durable and chemically inert, the optics feature Mohs 9 hardness, flatness to 0.1 wavelength, parallelism to 2 arc-sec. and surface finishes to <0.5 nm.

For wavelengths from UV to 4.7 µm, the optics transmit up to 85% uncoated or >99% coated, depending upon thickness. They are available — fabricated to user specs, with wedges, mounting holes, steps, or other features — as plano-convex/concave lenses, tubes, balls, domes, and rectangular or square windows.
