Lattice Semiconductor Corp. has launched Lattice Automate, a low power FPGA-based solution stack for developing industrial automation systems. The stack includes software tools, industrial IP cores, modular hardware development boards, and software-programmable reference designs and demos.
Targeting smart industrial systems, the solution stack is designed to simplify implementation in applications such as robotics, motor control, predictive maintenance, and real-time industrial networking in smart factories, warehouses, and commercial buildings. It supports key features required in intelligent automation systems such as low power, low latency, high availability, and real-time processing.
The stack supports Lattice Propel for simplifying the development of industrial automation systems with software/hardware co-processing using an embedded RISC-V processor. It enables hardware Root-of-Trust that can detect, protect, and recover from a firmware-based attack in real time.
The Automate solution includes reference designs and demos for multi-axis motor control, predictive maintenance, real-time industrial networking, and hardware security. IP cores include EtherConnect, CNN processing unit, and PDM data collector. It also features two hardware platforms: the Lattice Certus-NX-based motor control board and Lattice MachXO3D-based hardware security board. Custom design services are available.
