LCD driver-controller is low power The SED1560 is an intelligent
single-chip LCD driver-controller with the ability to drive alphanumeric
and graphic displays. In full active mode the device draws 350 μA; in
sleep mode, it uses only 0.05 μA. The device includes an on-chip dc/dc
converter for LCD voltages and can communicate with both 80xx and 68xx
microprocessors through a serial or 8-bit parallel interface. The SED1560
can support a variety of duty cycles from 1/16 to 1/65, allowing displays
as small as 17 x 150 pixels and as large as 65 x 102 pixels to be
supported. The chip is available in TAB packaging. ($8.25 ea/1,
