LCR-meter adapter enables battery, cap testing

Designed to work with Tegam 3525 and 3550 LCR meters, the 2191A ±40 Vdc bias adapter not only enables accurate testing of electrolytic, tantalum, and other polarized capacitors, but – due to its wide bandwidth design – also facilitates battery-impedance spectroscopic testing at multiple frequencies from 100 Hz to 1 MHz, thereby improving determination of battery characteristics.

The $650 adapter accepts an external dc bias voltage up to ±40 V applied across the test capacitor. Four 6-in. BNC cables are provided to connect the bias adapter to the LCR meter, and numerous compatible accessories – including Kelvin clips, Kelvin tweezers and fixturing for most standard component packages – are also available from stock.
