LED A19 lamp offers better directionality

The GE Energy Smart A19 LED bulb uses a unique heat-fin design that permits uniform distribution of light while keeping the LEDs cool. The bulb produces 450 lm, which is the LED Energy Star threshold to be considered a 40-W incandescent replacement, and is designed to consume approximately 9 W.

With an expected 25,000-hour rated life, the bulb should last 17 years when used 4 hours per day, which is 25 times longer than a typical 40-W incandescent or halogen bulb and more than 3 times longer than a standard 8,000-hour-life rated compact fluorescent. (Less than $50 — available 2nd half.)
