The AT9919 LED lamp driver IC is designed specifically for solid-state lighting applications in automobiles, such as head lights, tail lights, brake indicator lights, dome lights, and panel backlights. Available in a compact, 8-lead, DFN package, the device is AEC-Q100 compliant, drives LEDs using a buck topology, and incorporates hysteretic control of LEDs and high-side current sensing.
The IC drives loads of up to 1.0 A at over 90% efficiency from input voltages ranging from 4.5 to 40 V. Additional features include up to 2.0-MHz switching frequency, a typical ±5% LED current accuracy, and a –40° to 125°C temperature range. LED brightness control is achieved with PWM dimming from an analog or PWM input signal.($0.98 ea/1,000 — samples available now.)
