The 8-channel SC5010 white LED driver offers an innovative PWM phase-shift dimming control that uses 2.2-µH, 1-mm inductors, allowing LED drivers to be built directly into the LCD panel in ultrabook PCs and ultra-mobile PCs for displays as thin as 4 mm. The driver can power up to 112 LEDs, with currents up to 30 mA per channel.
Additional features include a high efficiency up to 92%, programmable switching frequency from 200 kHz to 2.2 MHz, a input range from 4.5 to 27 V, and an output range of up to 50 V. Housed in a 28-pin MLPQ package, the driver can handle line transients up to 10 V/µs. ($1.20 ea/3,000 available now.)
