The 16-channel TLC5942 and TLC5945 constant-current sink LED drivers with dot correction and gray scale are available in a 32-pin QFN or 28-pin HTSSOP packages. The TLC5942 provides 128-step dot correction to compensate for LED luminous mismatch, and allows for both gray-scale control and dot correction to be accessible via separate, dedicated serial interface ports.
The TLC5945 is optimized for video displays with fast video action, such as stadium sporting events, as it provides a very fast refresh rate capability30-MHz data transfer ratewith no delay. Both parts have two error detection circuits for LED open detection and a thermal error flag. ($1.75 ea/1,000available now.)
