LED drivers include MIC, power MOSFET

The LC5205D and LC5210D off-line LED driver IC series include both a main controller integrated circuit (MIC) and a power MOSFET. The high-voltage capability allows direct connection to a wide range of supply voltages ranging from 25 to 400 V (recommended).

Output current for the LC5205D is 0.5 A and for the LC5210D, 1 A. Packaged in a standard 8-pin DIP, with pin 7 removed for greater creepage distance from the supply pin, the series also features overcurrent and thermal-shutdown protection. (ea/1,000, LC5205D, $0.95; LC5210D, $1 — 8 weeks ARO.)
