LED drivers reduce total BOM count

The FL7730 and FL7732 LED drivers combine primary-side regulation and a single-stage PFC topology to minimize total bill-of-material (BOM) count, such as an input electrolytic capacitor and feedback circuitry, therefore allowing for a more compact, longer life, and lower system cost design. The FL7730 is a single-stage primary side regulation controller with power factor correction (PFC), TRIAC and analog dimming compatibility, while the FL7732 is suited for non-dimming applications. The FL7730 is implemented with the company’s unique analog sensing technology and can achieve TRIAC dimming control without flicker over the full range of 0 to 100% light output.

LED drivers reduce total BOM count

The FL7730 offers a power factor of ≥ 0.9 and a power efficiency of up to 85%, while the FL7732 offers a power efficiency of greater than 85% in non-dimming applications. Features for both include a startup current of 20 µA, an operating current of 5 mA, and an application voltage range of 80 to 308 Vac.

Housed in an SOP-8 package, the parts also offer open-LED protection, short-LED protection, and cycle-by-cycle current limiting.(ea/1,000, FL7730, $1.27; FL7732, $1.15 samples, now)
