LED-drivers target dimming, commercial lighting

The LYTSwitch IC-family targets commercial lighting and provides smooth dimming for consumer applications. The ICs combine PFC and constant current into a single switching stage, increasing driver efficiency to more than 90% in typical applications, and delivering a power factor greater than 0.95 while meeting EN61000-3-2C requirements for total harmonic distortion. The combined single-stage converter topology also eliminates high-voltage electrolytic bulk capacitors, enabling extended driver lifetimes

The LED driver devices provide accurate primary-side control offering >+/- 5% regulation across the load. The 132-kHz switching frequency enables the use of small, low-cost magnetics while frequency jitter ensures reduced EMI filter requirements. Safety features include overvoltage, overcurrent and over-temperature protection.
