LED lamp is first to be activated by ambient light

The autosensLED employs 11 ambient light sensors around the LED product to take advantage of top-, side-, and bottom-facing optics. Small amounts of ambient light hitting the product from any angle will trigger five high efficiency bright white LEDs to turn on to illuminate the compartment space. This product uses low levels of light from the kitchen that enters the closet when the door is opened to turn on the LED light. The light turns itself off after it detects the closet is once again dark.

The autosensLED technology blinks off the LEDs every thirty seconds to detect whether the space is pitch-black. If it is pitch black, then the light remains off. The timing is managed by a microcontroller and a quartz crystal to ensure the blink off intervals of multiple autosensLEDs are synchronized. This ensures the products click off when the light is no longer needed. Applications include closets, cabinets, drawers, automotive storage consoles, safes, chests, and lockers. With three AA batteries, the expected lifetime is in excess of two years. Price is $49.99.
