LEDs offer twice the light from half the surface of HID lamps

The Soleriq P 9, a chip-on-board LED suits compact spotlights for retail outlets and museums and for spotlights for directional indoor lighting. A single one of the LEDs is enough to replace a 35 W high-intensity discharge (HID) lamp. 

The chip has a light emitting surface with a diameter of 9 mm (64 mm²) and produces 2,000 lm with a luminous efficacy of 100 lm/W at a temperature of 85°C and 3000 K. The light emitting surface is around 50 percent smaller than the Soleriq S 13 but delivers twice the intensity with the same efficiency. The chip is tested and measured at a temperature of 85°C to simulate the thermal conditions within actual applications as closely as possible.
