LEDs suit replacements for traditional lighting

Aimed at replacement bulb and fluorescent light-bar designs, the Low/Mid Power LED series consists of 0.06-, 0.2-, 0.4-, and 0.5-W LEDs. The devices are said to have efficacies greater than 100 lm/W and come in four package types; the 3020 and 3528 (0.06 W) packages suit light bar applications, while the 5050 (0.2 W), and 5630 (0.4 and 0.5 W) packages fit A-bulb designs.

The 3020/3528 devices — which allow many LEDs to be densely packed onto a linear heat sink to provide the light uniformity needed to emulate the appearance of traditional fluorescent tubes — are offered in 200-mcd binning for intensity uniformity and 0.1-V binning for consistent electrical design. For the 5630 devices, a balance of lumens output, power consumption, and package size allow light- and heat-spread optimization within the dimensional confines of an A-bulb.
