LG Display Showcases Future of Display Technology at SID 2012

55” OLED TV and 5” Full HD LCD panels to headline exhibit

Seoul, Korea (June 3, 2012) – LG Display [NYSE: LPL, KRX: 034220], a leading manufacturer of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display, will showcase over 20 innovative products representing the future of display technology at SID Display Week 2012. Products on exhibit will include LG Display’s 55” OLED TV panel which has captured wide attention, as well as the world’s first 5” Full HD LCD panel which makes its debut at the show.

55” OLED TV and 5” Full HD LCD Panels

Visitors to the LG Display booth will experience the company’s breakthrough 55” OLED TV panel utilizing White RGB (WRGB) OLED technology. With mass production to begin in 2012, WRGB has been acknowledged as the OLED technology of choice by many in the display industry.

At SID, the company will also debut the world’s first 5” Full HD LCD panel – the highest resolution mobile panel to date. The LCD panel, with 16:9 aspect ratio, is based on AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) technology and features 440ppi and 1920×1080 resolution – two times the resolution of existing mobile HD panels.

An Array of Futuristic, Advanced Products

With over 20 other products on display, visitors will enjoy LG Display’s commitment to design with products like Shuriken, the much praised solution for Intel’s Ultra Book, as well as the 3-sided borderless Blade monitor. The new series of ART TV and world’s slimmest 4.5” HD smartphone panels will also be on exhibit.

LG Display’s 47” Full HD TV panel noted for its breakthroughs in low power consumption will also be shown. Finally, visitors will catch a glimpse into the future with LG Display’s glasses-free 4.5” HD 3D panel, and 5.3mm bezel 55” FPR 3D public display.
