Li-ion battery charger suits tablets

The bq2416x family of Li-ion battery charger ICs support higher cell capacity batteries and the increasing battery charge currents of tablets, e-readers and smartphones. The integrated single-cell Li-Ion battery charger has dual inputs, allowing operation from either a USB port or input supply. The two inputs are independent from each other and are configurable using the I2 C interface or a stand-alone interface.

The 49–pin WCSP IC packages features integrated FET support charge rates up to 2.5 A, and 1.5 A from USB input. They have dual source inputs, ac adapter and USB 2.0/3.0 compatibility, a 20–V input with 10.5–V over-voltage protection, BC1.2 compliance, JEITA charging support and thermal regulation protection.
