Li-ion cells produce 10-kW/kg power

The VL-U high-power Li-ion electrochemical cell prototypes were delivered to the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) enabling a lighter military unit. The cells can produce continuous power of 10 kW/kg and pulse power as high as 30 kW/kg.

The batteries integrate individual Li-ion cells both mechanically and electrically into battery systems. The battery cell technology is an evolution of the company’s VL-V and VL-A technology.
