The ATA6616 system-in-a-package LIN networking device combines a LIN system basis chip — including LIN transceiver, voltage regulator, and watchdog — and a ATtiny87 MCU with 8 kbytes of flash. The QFN38-packaged chip can use up to a 40-V supply (operating voltage of 5 to 27 V), with a 10-μA typ supply current in sleep mode, 57 μA in silent mode.
The MCU includes a hardware LIN UART with automatic baud-rate synchronization in slave mode and integrated hardware routines to simplify protocol stack handling and limit interrupt generation. It operates from –40° to 125°C. ($1.80 ea/10,000 — samples available now.)
