The the AS8520 and AS8530 automotive LIN slave transceiver ICs feature low-power backup registers that enable the fastest startup procedure available. The devices provide a LIN 2.1 transceiver with more-than-6-kV ESD capability on bus pins, a low-dropout 60-mA linear voltage regulator, and a nominal 6 to 18-V supply voltage with overvoltage capability to 42 V.
The AS8520 also has two low-side relay drivers and a resistive attenuator with disable switch for power saving, and both chips operate at –40° to 125°C. The AS8520 comes in a 24-pin QFN and the AS8530 in an 8-pin epSOIC package. They have a standby current of only 36 µA typ. (€ 0.70 and 1,11 ea./100,000 — samples available now.)
