The MLX80030 LIN transceiver provides slew rate control for best EME behavior, is highly EMI resistant, and meets IEC 61000-4-2 for enhanced ESD robustness. The chip combines a physical layer LIN transceiver (LIN 2.x and SAEJ2602) with a 3.3 V/70 mA voltage regulator and has a RESET output for the system MCU.
The ICs baud rate is up to 20 k and it provides a high impedance output in case of loss of ground or battery. The compact SOIC8 packaged transceiver costs only $0.34 ea/50,000 and takes only 750 μA typical and 1,500 μA maximum from a 5 to 18 V supply. Sleep mode current is 30 μA maximum over the devices -40° to 125°C operating range.
