The HMC662LP3E wideband logarithmic detector is specified from 8 to 30 GHz, and converts RF signals at its input, to a proportional dc voltage at its output. The part employs successive compression topology which delivers a ±3-dB dynamic range of more than 50 dB up to 30 GHz, and the logarithmic error over the –40° to 85°C temperature range is less than ±1 dB up to 18 GHz.
The detector provides a nominal logarithmic slope of 13 mV/dB, and an intercept of –127 dBm at 18 GHz. Offered in a 3 x 3-mm RoHS compliant SMT plastic, the part features a supply voltage of 3.3 V, rise and fall times of 5 and 10 ns, respectively, and a power-down mode, where the supply current is reduced to 3 mA.
