Low-cost 16-Kbit FRAM is super low power

The MB85RC16 16-Kbit FRAM memory IC uses a 1-MHz I2 C interface and features standby current of just 0.1 µA. It comes in a tiny 3 x 2-mm SON-8 package.

The memory is organized as 2,048 words × 8 bits and operating supply current is 70 μA (typ at 1 MHz). The chip works over −40° to 85°C from 2.7 V to 3.6 V and read/write endurance is 1012 times/byte. (Less than $1 ea/sample qty — available now.)
