Low-cost 32-bit MCU yields 1.65 DMIPS/MHz

The RX62N and RX621 32-bit MCUs achieve a performance of 165 DMIPS at 100 MHz, executing directly from no-wait flash, while consuming only 53 mA (all peripherals active, typical conditions).

Low-cost 32-bit MCU yields 1.65 DMIPS/MHz

The MCUs have up to 512 Kbytes of flash, 96 Kbytes of SRAM, and 32 Kbytes of data flash and use 2.7 to 3.6 V. The 62N has provision for Ethernet, and both devices have CAN, up to two USB-FS 2.0 channels, I2 C, 12-bit A/D and 10-bit D/A converters, a floating-point unit, and a multiply-accumulator. They have a five-stage instruction pipeline, and their 90-nm flash can be read at 10 ns, They come in 85 to 176-pin packages. (From $3.90 ea/10,000 — samples available now.)
