Low cost FPGAs have added functionality

The iCE40 Ultra FPGA family (iCE5LP1K) offers high integration and super small packages. The devices come in 1.7 x 2.1 mm 20-ball or 2.08 x 2.08 mm 36-ball wafer level chip scale (WLCS) packages. The family has 1,100, 2,048, and 3,520 LUT versions.

The ICs include hard IP for three 24 mA constant current sinks, one 500 mA constant current sink, PWM functions, a PLL, four 16 x 16 multipliers w/32-bit accumulators, and two programmable I² C & SPI interfaces. They feature 250 MHz system I/Os, a pin-LUT-pin propagation delay of 9 ns maximum, non-volatile configuration memory, up to 80 kbits of block RAM, up to 3,520 look up tables for customization, and up to 26 GPI/Os.
