Low-cost LDOs cut
external capacitor
Suited for slow-switching or steady-load
applications, the CS9201 and CS9202 low-dropout
voltage regulators eliminate the need for a
costly external capacitor that traditional
regulators require for stability. Features
include reverse-voltage protection of –15 V,
short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, and
input overvoltage shutdown.
The 5-V CS9201 and 3-V CS9202 offer a quiescent
current of 450 µA at 100-µA load,
withstand 74-V peak transients, and maintain
600-mV low-dropout voltage. The parts are
specified over automotive temperatures of
–40° to 125°C, and are housed in
SO-8s. ($0.66 ea/10,000–available now.)
