Low cost LED driver controllers maximize efficiency

The ISL 1903 / ISL 1904 LED driver controllers can operate in critical conduction mode (CrCM) and deliver the industry’s highest efficiency and dimming performance in industrial and commercial lighting systems. They are high-performance single-ended buck and flyback parts that support single-stage conversion of the ac mains to a constant current source with power factor correction (PFC).

Specifications include zero to 100% dimming capability, power factor correction for up to 0.995 power factor, and less than 20% harmonic content. The parts are configurable for either PWM or dc current dimming control of LEDs and compatible with leading and trailing edge dimmers.

Housing is in 16-lead QSOP packages and operating voltage is from -40 to 125C. In addition they offer primary side current sensing which eliminates the need for opto-couplers. (From $0.84 ea/1,000 available now)
