The Kinetis KL2 microcontroller has a 48-MHz Cortex-M0+ core and features a Full-Speed USB 2.0 OTG controller. The device has 32 to 256 Kbytes of flash, 4 to 32 Kbytes of SRAM, and a 12- or 16-bit A/D converter. It comes in packages as small as 5 x 5 mm and is said to yield 1.77 CoreMark/MHz.
The MCU consumes just 50 µA/MHz in very-low-power run mode and includes timer modules, a WDT, DMA, and a Micro Trace Buffer for fast debug. Other versions come without USB or with a segment LCD controller. A development platform is planned for Q3 at a price of $12.95. (Versions from $0.49 ea/10,000 — samples available now.)
