Low-cost MCUs have 24-MHz 8051 core

The XC82x and XC83x series 8-bit microcontrollers use a market standard 8-bit 8051 core. The low-cost 24-MHz processors have 2 to 8 Kbytes of flash, 512 Kbytes of RAM, and 16- to 28-pin package variants.

Versions of the devices operate at –40° to 125°C and meet ACQ100 requirements for automotive applications. The devices have touch control, SPI and I2C interfaces, four A/d converter channels, and four PWM channels. ($0.55 to $1.01 ea./100,000 — samples available now.)
