Low-cost video camera runs from USB 3.0

The See3CAM_80 HD autofocus USB 3.0 Superspeed camera board supports video streaming at resolutions of up to 1080p at 30 f/s and includes an 8-Mpixel autofocus camera module that uses an OV8825 CMOS image sensor. The UVC-compliant board is plug-and-play in both Windows and Linux and uses 2.35 to 2.5 W from the USB port's 5-V supply.

The 65 x 16-mm low-cost camera board supports VGA at 30 f/s, 720p30, and 1080p30 resolutions for high-end video recording, video analytics, and HD video conferencing applications and can stream the full 8-Mpixel resolution video at around 11 fps. The image sensor is a 1/3.2-in. optical format, 1.4 micron pixel device with a four-lane MIPI CSI-2 interface. Cost is $89 ea/1,000.
