Low-noise OCXOs suit PLL, synthesizer apps

The HPXO series of high-performance, oven-controlled crystal oscillators deliver phase noise performance of -140 dBc/Hz typical at 100 Hz offset. They are currently available in 100, 125 and 128 MHz output versions with a typical electronic tuning range of ±5 ppm for controlled phase-locked loop (PLL) use. Applications can include reference signals for ultra-low noise frequency synthesizers, and phase-locked oscillators for use in radar, test and measurement equipment, satellite communications, base stations, and general lab work.

The oscillator is housed in a hermetic, through-hole-mounted package measuring 1.42 x 1.065 x 0.6 in. Other salient features include sine wave output, excellent frequency and long-term stability, high second-harmonic rejection,
